Covering Danish Theatres, Theatre for young adults and Dance.
Therefore we work closely together with the Danceinformationcentre (DIC), Danish Assitej and Unima. All of them being members of Danish ITI & Theatre Union and connected as well to Unesco.
We represent more than 25 trade unions, Danish Theatres , institutions and education centres – and their members. The Danish Theatre Union is the only umbrella organisation which represents both employers and employees within the performing arts Denmark
The Danish Theatre Union protects the interests of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in Denmark. That is why our name is Danish ITI & Theatre Union. Together with more than a hundred UNESCO/ITI centres, we have worked to revise the UNESCO Charter. ITI attaches special weight to "the Declaration of cultural diversity and the Convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions". We also collaborate closely with the Nordic Theatre Union, IETM, Enicpa, Assitej, Unima and with several other organisations.
Danish ITI & Theatre Union undertakes many tasks. Our primary task through Danish Performing Art Informationcentre is to promote and strengthen Danish performing arts both on a national and an international level. We are the main access to information on performing arts in Denmark as well as on Danish performing arts abroad, as well as information on international theatre - information gathered by the large network of ITI Centres around the world, through our co-operation with ENICPA, the Nordic Theatre Union and On-The-Move and several others. Everyday Danish ITI and Theatre Union helps individuals and/or groups gain contacts all over the world or find information on courses, festivals, training, supplementary training and workshops.
We consider it our prime duty to collect data on Danish theatre activities and publish these in The Danish Theatre Yearbook. This is a task we have pledged ourselves to perform for Performing Arts Denmark and the Arts Council.
